Today we did some pretty domestic things like take a jog and go grocery shopping, so to reward ourselves for this stupendous outlay of effort we spent the day at the Blue Lagoon complete with steam bath, mineral skin treatment and about three hours in the geothermal pool. Even better was that the percentage of men wearing speedo/thongs is very low as southern europeans don't seem to make it out here.
We also learned some facts about Iceland that we would like to share:
- when you meet someone here you go to the country's website and make sure you are not related;
- food is expensive! like 20 per pound for snow peas expensive!
- if there is a stop sign in place of a rotary we havent found it;
- we still haven't heard sigur ros or bjork on the radio but have heard ryan seacrest and that just makes us angry;
- it does not get dark this time of year and it is really disorienting. the picture of our apartment was taken at 10:30pm.
Over and out from the North Atlantic.

The Blue Lagoon. That water is naturally warm and filtered. Not pictured is that some of the water is diverted for power. |
The 'lunar' landscape all around the iceland is especially pronounced around the Blue Lagoon. |
One more pic. |
Harpa's apartment building just outside of Reykavic. |
