Our work responsibilities took a turn to the domestic today with grandchild watching duties. Rather than deal with two kids at once we essentially split the day in half, taking the baby food shopping and for a latte (for us, not her) and then taking the two year old on a two hour walk through vineyards.
We are now getting ready to cook dinner - a salad with garden greens and a multi-grain risotto - and our responsibilities for the day are done. If we can do this again for the next two days before leaving we will be very happy, and rested.
Update: we have been scanning the local newspaper and have really enjoyed some of the local news stories. Two examples from today are the following headlines: "Queen's jubilee shows older citizens capable of making an effort to enjoy themselves" and "Man throws ostrich egg at wife because her pigs damaged his saw." There are more like this and we will try to include them over the next few days.
